It's that time of year again and Mrs. Ramirez will be needing all library books to be returned before school lets out for summer break. Please read the information below and if you have any questions please contact Mrs. Ramirez, MaryannaRamirez@misdmail.org.
How does my child turn in their library books?
Place library books on the black book cart in the library any time during school hours, or drop off in the front office. You may start returning books you are finished with now.
How do I know what books my child has checked out?
1. Go to Destiny Discover through Classlink or by clicking here.
2. Log in with your child's ID number for the username and password.
3. Click on My Stuff > Checkouts.
What do I do if the book is lost?
My child says they turned that book in. What should I do?
Ms. Ramirez is scanning every book in the library for inventory. If it is checked out to your child and it is on one of the shelves, it will be checked back in and you will be notified. If it is not on one of our library shelves please continue searching for it. Backpacks tend to bury library books. That's a good place to start, as well as closets, under beds, in car trunks, and in classrooms.
How are fines for lost/damaged books paid?
Ms. Ramirez will create a Fine in Skyward. Once that step is complete, click on Fee Management in Skyward Family Access in a browser to make a payment via PayK12.
How does my child read after he/she turns in the library books?
- Check out your local public library.
- Read books that were purchased from our book fair, April 20-24.
- Read books on Sora via Classlink.
- Read TREC Lightbox titles on Destiny Discover via Classlink.
